[Call for Papers]

III WAIHCWS - Workshop on Aspects of Human-Computer Interaction for the Social Web, in IHC+CLIHC’2011 Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems (IHC) and Latin American Conference on Human Computer Interaction (CLIHC), Porto de Galinhas, Pernambuco, Brazil, October 25 to 28 2011.

The Social Web is part of the transformations that have redefined the way people relate, use and are affected by technology. In the social software, users interact, communicate, create, organize and share content demonstrating the opportunities and knowledge that can be generated by working together and through mass interaction. Such systems present challenges to the organization, retrieval and presentation of information, as well as those related to infrastructure and media.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Methods of design and evaluation of social software;
  • Factors, characteristics and measurements of success in social software;
  • Organizational factors in social software;
  • Theories and mechanisms for encouraging participation and collaboration among users;
  • Culture aspects and appropriation, emotional and affectiveness in social software;
  • Communication, collaboration, sharing and security in social software;
  • Identity, privacy, trust and reputation in social software;
  • Usability and accessibility of social software;
  • Memory and ownership in social software;
  • Utilization of social knowledge.

We invite works in all stages of development, describing systems, empirical findings, proposals and research findings that address aspects of the Social Web with a focus on human-computer interaction. Positions and theoretically grounded discussions about topics of interest are also welcome.

Papers may be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish, and short papers (4-6 pages) or full papers (8-10 pages), should be in ACM SIG CHI format http://www.sigchi.org/chipubform. Submissions must be original and include unpublished results.

This is a blind-review workshop.

Selected papers will be published in the CEUR Workshop Proceedings. As in the second edition, it is expected that the best papers accepted in WAIHCWS may be invited to submission in a journal with international visibility.

Submissions must be anonymous. Authors must submit electronic versions of his works (PDF file) by EasyChair system.
